Service Learning Outcomes with a Specific Aim on Social Justice

In partnership with Alliant University, Point Loma National University and San Diego State University, college students mentor Youth Voice leaders in their development of youth-led trauma informed, resilience building curriculum supporting the development of the Train the Trainer model for Youth Voice.

Youth Voice
is developing a Train the Trainer hub for inner city youth teaching other inner city youth locally, regionally, statewide and nationally on the impact of trauma on the brain neurologically, the body biologically, toxic stress, epigenetics and resilience building.  The unified sciences of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) are the baseline understanding in addition to understanding the Cradle to Prison pipeline and, just as imperatively, the Cradle to Career pipeline. The deepened understanding is the framework for their youth-led advocacy on influencing systems change with their Calls to Action through ASKs with policy and decision makers. Presently, they've presented at the City of San Diego Commission on Gang Prevention & Intervention, CA Department of Public Health, and local city and county leaders.
